Card Box

I am working on building up a collection of cards that I can have on hand to give to people and decided I needed to make a box to store them in. because the challenge was to make a project with “brown paper bags tied up with strings” I used some brown card stock and made a box to hold my cards.

009

I used huntington paper to decorate it and fussy cut one of the flowers from the paper, adding a pop dot behind it to make it stand out a little. The yellow flower is cut from the flower shoppe cartridge

I stuck a brad through the middle of the brown flower to attach the ribbon that holds it closed

monkey spinner card

I made this monkey spinner card for the muse challenge this week.

038

I cut the monkey from the new arrival cricut cartridge at 2.5in you will need 2

I cut the first piece of cardstock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored it in half then I cut a 3 inch circle 2in from the left

then I cut a second piece of card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and cut a 3 inch circle 2in from the left

006

I thin cut a piece of 5in green tread and glued it to the back of the monkey down his middle and added 2 copper brads for his eyes, then glued the second monkey to the back side to cover the string and back of the brads.

Then tape the sting to the top and bottom of your circle and glue the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch onto the inside013

I stamped the inside with vines from the wild wonders stamp set in ponderosa pine alternating between first and second generation stamping

014

I then I added flowers from the flower Shoppe cartridge 1 at 2in and one at 2.5 and the leaves and the tag from 3D objects on the artiste cartridge

look who’s home owl card

I was looking for ideas for a welcome home card and got the inspiration for this card from the Muse Challenge found here. I cut the owl from the Artbooking cartridge, when I do the next one I will ink around the owl to create a bit of a shadow and make him stand out more, but I like the way it turned out.

Challenge #9- missing you card

Here is challenge # 9  The challenge is to create a card for OWH using an image of one or more bees and adding a creative BEE sentiment. Here is what I came up with
020I used the bee from the “walk in my garden” cricut cartridge and the artbooking cartridge to make the honey comb overlay

challenge 8 - Fall theme- S fold

It was taking to long to update the blog in between every challenge and I needed to get the cards out so I am sorry that the blog posts ran behind but here is challenge #8.
I cut this card using the cricut Artistie cartridge in huntington.Accent 2 letter S set on 5 1/2

the orange matt is cut at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 and the yellow is at 3 1/4 X 4 1/2 the cream is cut at 2 1/4. I used the “sweet life” stamp set to stamp the apple and colored it in with my water color pencils, when I glued it down I used the 3d foam tape behind the apple to make it pop. I cut the branches using the artbooking cartridge, border button on page 84, inked all my edges with black ink and left plenty of room for a note home on the inside.

Make a kids card- Penny spinner

The next challenge was to make a kids card, the challenge link is Here. I decided it was a great time to make my first Penny Spinner.

008
first I cut my card stock 5 1/2 X 8 and scored the middle
I then cut the back ground piece from green at 5 1/2 by 4
the window on the front is 1/2in x 4 1/2in
I cut the ball and title from the Artbooking cartridge
007

put 3d foam around the back of your inside panel being careful to not have it to close to where your window is. Line it up and stick it inside. Then put 3d foam on both pennies in the center and put one on top of the other with the ball on top and stick the bottom penny through the window (track) your ball will be tight at first but after moving it back and forth for a bit it will start to roll.
